  1. More hotkeys/shortcuts

More hotkeys, perhaps use "n" to select the "add point tool" since "n" is already nest to "b" and "v", which are hotkeys for the path and shape edit tools.

Also, hotkeys for the "new shape" tools would be nice, maybe "z" "x" "c" or "f" "g" "h" or "g" "h" "j"? something close to the other tool hotkeys would be best probably.

Finally a shortcut to import a .svg glyph when your in the glyph edit screen (and have it automagically import into the glyph you already had selected) would be nice. Perhaps "ctrl+i"?

    TL;DR: More shortcuts and hotkeys…

  2. The ability to add background image.

Say, you've drawn character on a piece of paper and want to make something similar in editor. It would be much easier to do stuff if you could drag and drop photo of the character to the background of the main content area and then be guided by it through out the work. Of course, you should be able to adjust it according to grid.

  3. The ability to import .PNG, Bitmp, and other transparent image types.

For some people, like my self, we may want to create entirely new letters with complex curves and symbols; therefore it would be nice to, say, draw the symbol on a piece of paper, scan it, edit it with a third-party "paint editor," then upload the resulting image into Glyphr. A three month font type, could be cut down to anywhere from fifteen minutes to a few hours. One imager, per letter/symbol/number.

  4. Boolean operations

Ability to select two shapes and perform a boolean operation on them, such as subtract and union.

  7. Paths with stroke thickness

Fonts don't support paths with stroke thickness, only fill. But, we could allow you to specify a path with stroke thickness, then when exporting a font, that path's stroke could be outlined to create a filled shape.

  9. Ability to move baseline for all characters / move all characters

It would be nice if there was a button to move all characters up or down, to be able to fix fonts with the wrong baseline aka with characters appearing to high or too low.

  10. SVG Color Fonts

You have some support for SVG fonts. How much of a stretch would it be to add full-blown SVG color fonts?

  12. Disable auto-calculate for all glyphs in bulk.

I needed a font with exaggerated spaces between letters and to achieve it I was able to change the left and right ranges, but then had to go to each glyph and disable auto-calculate on all of them. I only did it on the ones I actually needed. Doing it on all would have taken forever.

  14. export kern pairs and ligatures to .otf

You have nice tools for editing kern pairs and ligatures, but it pains me that I can't use them in .otf files. That's my primary target for my work.

  15. Move all shapes to the top-left corner and perfectly bound them using auto-width

This might be useful for UI designers who would like to be able to manually draw some glyphs using just the top-left corner of a rectangle and the name of the glyph.

  16. Single line fonts

Ability to make glyphs based on path stroke, not by using fill, as Single Line Font, export it in format similar to Rapahel cufon font, (it would be nice to have exported font gyphs having 0,0 coordinates at top, similar to svg image) I'm using adobe illustrator to design single line gyphs, then exporting them as svg, mapping to codePoint, and formatting them in json format for my use. It's a lot time consuming, iterative and irritative task. I would love to see your positive response on my idea.
    Thank you )

  17. Unicode Block Name

I wish to see Unicode Block Name in Custom Glyph Range section of Font Settings, as is described in article: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unicode_block.

Leave range as is, just add Block Name on left side before range.

  18. Please, add an option to clear a glyph or to select all shapes to delete.

It's painful to use when you need to delete multiple shapes one by one.

  20. Just discovered this and LOVE it.

It would be great if you could create rounded corner rectangles. Also the ability to see other characters as you editing / constructing a particular character would be lovely.
