    As a limited starting point, being able to start from some "canned" freely reusable fonts would be great. This gives you a fallback starting point for the glyphs you don't care about re-designing. (I tried opening up the Fira Medium OTF and the import borked, otherwise that probably would have worked just as well.)

    Being able to somehow say how to fetch glyphs out of an SVG file would be even better when designing on an iPad - no need to export a ton of layers to separate images, just snarf them out of the whole SVG.

    Are the names given to Unicode codepoints maintained as unique by the Unicode consortium? That'd be verbose but more user-friendly than the codepoint.

    That still doesn't help much with ligature import, though; this seems to wander into needing an accompanying mapping table perhaps. :\

    It seems like this would be much easier to work with and tweak for hobbyist use. Finely tweaking the shape of a glyph is fine when I'm trying to make an amazing font, but for getting a script off the ground, I just want to draw some lines and curves and run with it with a simple stroke.
